High There!: You’ve Got More Friends Than You Think”
DENVER—February 26, 2015—Today marked the Alaska launch of High There! the world’s first social connectivity app for cannabis consumers to share experiences. From dating, to making new friends, to finding like minded people to go out with, High There! is poised to give cannabis enthusiasts a new way to connect for all kinds of social experiences in a non-judgmental environment. With over 30k new users joining over the past three weeks, the community is growing in both numbers and meaningful connections rapidly.
“Connecting with other cannabis consumers in the 23 states where it is legal is not as simple as it sounds,” says Todd Mitchem, CEO of High There!. “There is still a prohibition culture that makes people uncomfortable to come right out and ask, “do you consume?” High There! allows people to meet, socialize, or even just share their stories and history with like minded individuals who share a common interest in marijuana. We are so excited to be growing so rapidly and expanding to more locations each week ”
“We want this to be a safe, fun, and cool community,” continues Mitchem. “We did not design it to show off the weed you grow in your house, or the neat devices you use when consuming. We designed High There! as a tool to help all cannabis consumers in places where it is legal, make more thoughtful, meaningful and authentic connections with people like them. Or as we like to say around here, You’ve got more friends than you think.”
The High There! app is simple to use with a minimal sign up process. Users click (or swipe) to inform other users what they want to do, what their interests are, and how (smoke, eat, vape) and why (medicinal, social, relaxation) they consume. People keep track of their connections in the chat feature and can invite friends, who also want to engage in shared experiences.
High There! is now available in both the Google Play app store and the Apple store for iOS devices.
Participants must be 21 or over to say, High There! Guidelines for participation are available at (http://www.highthere.com)
